Technical details and application highlights

Review the complete description, feature set, and specification details before sending your inquiry.

DYNArad is an advanced radiometric mass flow measurement system designed for continuous monitoring of bulk materials in pneumatic conveying and free-fall applications. By combining density measurement with velocity data from DYNAvel, it provides highly accurate mass flow rate calculations. This system is widely used in industrial environments such as power plants, especially for flue ash humidification control with capacities up to 450 t/h.

Key Features

  • Continuous mass flow measurement
  • Non-contact and non-intrusive operation
  • High precision and repeatability
  • Pressure resistant up to 64 bar
  • Independent of product characteristics
  • Maintenance-free operation
  • Reliable in extreme process conditions

Design & Functionality

DYNArad integrates radiometric density measurement with velocity sensing to determine mass flow rates accurately. The system operates without direct contact with the material, eliminating wear and ensuring long-term reliability. It is unaffected by temperature, pressure, viscosity, dust, or chemical properties, making it suitable for harsh industrial conditions.

Total Crossed Beams

The system utilizes advanced radiometric beam technology to measure material density across the pipeline. Gamma radiation emitted from a shielded source passes through the material and is detected on the opposite side. The attenuation of radiation directly correlates with material density, ensuring precise and consistent measurement.

Beam Pitch Options

Flexible beam configurations allow adaptation to different pipe sizes and process requirements. This ensures optimal coverage and accurate measurement across varying flow conditions and industrial setups.

Intrinsic Synchronism

DYNArad synchronizes density and velocity measurements seamlessly, ensuring accurate mass flow calculations. This intrinsic synchronism enhances process stability and supports real-time monitoring for improved operational efficiency.

Operational Advantages

DYNArad offers significant operational benefits, including zero maintenance due to non-contact measurement and no wear and tear. It provides highly accurate and repeatable results, unaffected by environmental or material variables. The system ensures reliable performance even under extreme conditions such as high pressure, dust, and fluctuating process parameters.

The radiometric measurement is based on the Gamma transmission principle, where radiation attenuation corresponds directly to material density. Combined with velocity and pipe cross-section, this enables precise mass flow rate determination.

Developed in cooperation with BERTHOLD TECHNOLOGIES GmbH & Co. KG Germany, DYNArad represents a globally trusted solution for industrial bulk material flow monitoring.
