Design & Functionality
The device integrates an ultrasonic transmitter and electronic processing module in a compact industrial sensor housing. The transmitter emits ultrasonic pulses toward the surface of the monitored material. Once the signal reflects from the surface, it returns to the sensor where the internal electronics calculate the time interval of the signal travel.
The measured time is automatically converted into a level signal and transmitted via analog or digital output. Temperature compensation ensures measurement accuracy even under varying environmental conditions.
The sensor configuration can be performed using integrated control buttons or a magnetic pen, allowing quick parameter adjustments in field installations.
Total Crossed Beams
The ultrasonic sensor emits a focused acoustic beam that travels toward the target surface. This directional measurement principle ensures accurate signal reflection and reliable level detection even in tanks, reservoirs, and process vessels.
The controlled beam geometry minimizes interference from tank walls and internal structures, improving measurement stability.
Beam Pitch Options
The sensor beam angle is optimized to maintain precise level measurement while avoiding unwanted reflections from surrounding structures. This beam control allows the sensor to operate efficiently in various tank geometries and process containers.
Different sensor variants support various measurement ranges, enabling flexible installation in short tanks, deep vessels, and industrial storage systems.
Intrinsic Synchronism
The measurement system incorporates intelligent signal processing and synchronization algorithms that maintain stable ultrasonic pulse transmission and reception. This synchronization ensures consistent measurement even in environments with variable temperatures or surface conditions.
Advanced echo processing helps eliminate noise and false reflections, providing reliable measurement results in challenging industrial conditions.
Operational Advantages
The ULM-53 ultrasonic level sensor offers significant operational advantages for industrial monitoring systems. Its non-contact design prevents mechanical wear and reduces maintenance requirements. The sensor can monitor liquids, wastewater, sludge, adhesives, and process fluids without direct contact with the medium.
Industrial automation systems benefit from the flexible output interfaces that allow easy integration into PLCs, SCADA systems, and process control networks.
Its rugged construction and high environmental resistance make it suitable for harsh industrial environments including wastewater treatment plants, chemical tanks, and storage vessels. Reliable measurement performance combined with simple installation makes the ULM-53 an efficient and cost-effective solution for modern level monitoring applications.
